Inspirational Monday: Embroidered
Jacket: DKNY | Dress: Zara | Boots: Topshop | Bag: Furla | Hat: Free People
Embroidery always reminds me of spring and summer. When I found this dress at the Zara sale I had to buy it ASAP, I knew it would be perfect to take from winter into the spring. Plus, I have been craving more embroidered pieces. What I really want next in my wardrobe are a pair of embroidered jeans like these from Topshop.

Fitness Friday: Easy Coffee Protein Smoothies
With the start of the New Year I restarted using MyFitnessPal to not only count calories but to really focus on my macros. This year I'm focusing on more weight training and lifting heavier which means a leaner me...which also means a higher lean protein diet, more veggies, fruit, and natural starches. I'm not exactly cutting out my pleasures of bread and pasta, just trying to eat less of it. Anyway, I began to notice that I wasn't getting enough protein in my diet. I'm not a huge breakfast person or care much for eggs so going without protein in the mornings was lowering my intake. Quick fix. Protein Smoothies. I've been playing with different types of smoothies but I found one that has my all time favorite thing COFFEE. This quick and easy Coffee Protein Smoothie is not be used a meal replacement but something to go along with something like oatmeal and other lighter breakfasts.
EASY COFFE PROTEIN SMOOTHIES
Ingredients:
1 cup of cold coffee (I make coffee the night before and put it int the fridge to chill)1/4 cup of Coconut Almond Milk (vanilla almond milk also works)
1 scoop of Vanilla Protein (I use Isopure Vanilla Creme Protein Powder -- this has ZERO carbs)
1 cup of ice
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass or your blender bottle to go. Enjoy!
This smoothie to me taste like a Vanilla Frapp! It's the perfect way for me to get my caffeine fix and protein in in the mornings. I drink this before leaving for work and once I get there I have my breakfast. It's especially perfect for those mornings where I'm starving, so it holds me over until I get to work.
What are some of your favorite smoothies?

Weekend Wear: Paris on My Mind
Jacket: William Rast | Sweater: Forever 21 (similar styles here, here and here)
| Shirt: Old Navy | Jeans: Madewell | Boots: Olukai
I had been kicking myself for not buying a beret when I was in Paris. Then I found this Free People slouchy beanie and I knew I couldn't pass it up again. So it went straight onto my Christmas list. Thankfully, Santa (aka my husband) put it under the tree for me. I have been non-stop wearing it. I love that it is slouchy so it has that cool girl effect but that it can be worn all different ways. This will be my winter repeat accessory.

Weekend Wear: First Snow of the New Year
Coat: Abercrombie & Finch (super old) | Sweater: Urban Outfitters | Jeans: Madewell |
Boots: c/o Cougar Boots (similar style here) | Hat: Forever21 | Gloves: Aerie | Sunglasses: Call It Spring
This weekend we got our first real "snow storm" of the New Year. After the gym on Saturday the husband I literally just hung around indoors all day and watched the snow fall. The bonus of our new apartment, we have a deck! Which not only means BBQs during the summer but that I get to play in fresh white snow...and not have to act like a 30 yr old child in front of people. So Sunday morning I threw on my old school jacket from Abercrombie and played in the snow like a 4 year old. Sunday morning well spent I say!
Did you get snow where you live? How did you spend your snowy weekend?

New Year, Fresh Face with Evian
The New Year is all about starting fresh and new. This year part of my resolution is to keep up with my skin regime. Thanks to Evian Face Spray for helping me get starting on my resolution. Here are some ways that Evian can fit into your resolutions for the New Year.
Resolute to Workout More:
If you're like me, after a workout you head home or to the store for a quick pick-up, but you're gross and sweaty. Spray on Evian's Face Spray for a cool down and a great way to freshen your face after a hard workout. The travel sized face spray fits perfectly into your gym bag. No clunky heavy bottle to lug around. This 1.7 oz bottle is light weight and easy to travel with.
Resolute to Travel More:
Whether you want to travel to exotic country sides or lay low on the beach, you don't need to skimp on your skin care. Evian's Face Spray helps keeps your face hydrated and can be used multiple times during the day. A light mist sets and revives make-up colors. So, if you don't have time to go back to the hotel to freshen up, spray a light mist of Evian to freshen up your look.
Resolute to Host More Parties:
Were you a hermit for most of 2016? Want to gather friends and family more often? So do I! This year my husband and I moved to a bigger apartment and we want to host more parties. When hosting parties it's not only about the table presentation, the food, and of course the drinks but also the toiletries. When setting a basket for your guest in the bathroom include a canister of Evian spray so that your guest can spray their face for a quick make-up fix or spray their hair to calm their frizzies.

Winter Style: Layers on Layers
Jacket: H&M | Cardigan: Forever21 | Denim Jacket: American Eagle | Shirt: Old Navy | Skirt: Zara | Boots: Zara |
Bag: Coach | Hat: Free People
When living in the Northeast, Midwest, or anywhere that dips below the 40s, layering becomes necessary. Layering wisely and with care is an art form...an art form that anyone can master. I've become obsessed with layering chunky open knit cardigans over a denim jacket. Why? Because they are layers that are easy to peel off. Comfort and ease also come to mind when it comes to bundling up for the winter weather.
How do you bundle up for the winter?

Outfit Post: Candy Coated New Year
New Year. Same Me...but with some new goals...and continuing ones as well. This year I'm looking to be more courageous. Say yes more. Continue to crush graduate school...and my workouts. To take eating healthy more seriously, but not to serious to say no to eating pizza.
What are some of your 2017 goals?
