Travel Diary: Florence at Sunset
Who doesn't love a good sunset? One of my favorite things we did while in Florence was catch the sunset over the city. On our last night in town we trekked up to the Pizzale Michelangelo to capture a stunning sunset over Florence. We brought a bought of Chianti, pecorino cheese, and bread that we bought from the Mercato Centrale with us. After the sun had set we made our way back down and stopped into La Bruschetta for the most amazing meal ever. We went here on a recommendation from a friend...and I'm so glad that we did. The service was amazing and the food was so fresh. The menu is all in Italian but the waiters speak english and love explaining their meals and menu to the customers. The only problem is that this place has ruining gnocchi's for me...now nothing compares to the melt in your goodness that theirs was.

Outfit Post: This is 30
Sweater Dress: ASOS | Shoes: ASOS | Bag: Valentino | Sunglasses: NYC street vendor (similar here here and here)
Today is my birthday! Most people fear turning 30...but for me I'm pretty excited about getting out of my 20s. Not that my 20s were particularly awful as I had made some really great memories in my 20s...like getting married, traveling, and starting graduate school..but I think the 20s are a little rough. Learning how to adult isn't easy. For most people this is the first time you are living life outside of school and it's hard. It's hard figuring out who you are, what you want to do, and what you are suppose to be doing. It took some time for me to figure it all out and I learned to be okay with that. I thought I would have my life all figured out by the time I graduated from college but that's a joke. I barely still have it together now, but at least I have more of a direction. I'm excited about the future, what other new things are left to explore and learn. What I've learned so far in life is to be comfortable about where you are. And be happy. Don't compare yourself to other people..especially in the day of social media...you just can't. Life is always changing, you'll continue to grow and change so enjoy the ride.

Wear Now: Fall 2016 Shoe Trend
There are two major Fall shoe trends that I'm loving right now: the ballerina flat and the menswear inspired loafer. Both of these styles are polar opposite of each other but I guess that also mirrors my style. I can be super feminine but also transition into something a little more tomboy. Both these style can spice up your look for fall. You can pair either with cropped jeans or a dress. The best is both these styles can be found from high end and low end designers. So you you can either splurge or steal the look for less.

How to Wear Fall Styles Now with Octer
Top: BP via Nordstorm c/o Octer | Jeans: Madewell | Shoes: Dorothy Perkins c/o Octer | Sungasses: Tobi.com | Bag: Marina Galanti
Off the shoulder for summer...and fall! Sign me up! The transition from summer to fall with the off the shoulder trend is an easy one, especially with something like this BP top...slip out of your cutoff shorts and back into a pair of your favorite high waist jeans. Of course for me, I'm all about my black skinny jeans. I'm also digging the menswear style loafers this season. After coming back from Paris, I feel like revamping my whole wardrobe and this style fits right in. I opted for a pair of simple black tassel loafers from Dorothy Perkins. These shoes go perfectly with everything.
Currently I'm going through a "nothing in my closet inspires me anymore" moment. Has anyone else gone through this...or currently going through this? Well...thanks to Octer shopping and getting inspired just got easier. Octer is your one shop destination, they have all of your favorite shops from Nordstorm to Topshop to JcPenney. Their website is super easy to navigate and allows you to comparison shop. And for us budgetistas that's a total win!

Travel Diary: Palace of Versailles
Dress: Tularose | Sneakers: Zara | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Hat: Brooklyn Hat Co. | Sunglasses: Loft
My husband got to turn 31 in Paris! How lucky for him. The morning of his birthday we spent it at the Palace of Versailles. Seriously as beautiful place to celebrate your birthday. It was quite the adventure getting to Versailles. The usual commuter train that goes out there wasn't running that Sunday...so we had to figure out the Metro and the commuter train. I'm not sure why Parisians get a bad wrap. Everyone that we met (we don't speak French) was super nice and helpful. Though most people said they spoke very little english they spoke it very well way better then my very little French that I know. Anyway once we figured out where we had to go it was pretty smooth sailing. That morning it was colder then what I expected plus by the time we were leaving the garden it started to rain. That was a bit of a damper but at least the weather held out long enough for us to enjoy the gardens and take some beautiful pictures.
TIPS:
- Don't be afraid to ask for directions or how to get train tickets or what you need.
- Get to Versailles EARLY. It is super crowded and def. a must for tourist.
- As beautiful as the Palace was the Gardens are just as gorgeous. If you don't want to wait on a long line for the Palace skip the Palace and just do the Garden.
- There are snack bars in the garden...but I did see people bring in their own little picnics which I thought was super cute.

Outfit Post: Welcome to the Neighborhood
Shirt: Issac Mizrahi | Pants: Madewell | Sandals: J.Crew | Bag: Marina Galanti (bought in Florence) |
Sunglasses: Tobi.com
These are the first set of pictures that we have taken in our new neighborhood! I'm still figuring out the best backdrops and areas to take outfit pictures. #fashionbloggerproblems. My husband I still have a lot of work to do on our apartment. We came back home from vacation and I was like "Oh yeah we still need to do some unpacking." There's a lot of clothes, shoes, and odds and ends that need to get put away. Small progress is still progress. But on the upside my cat is loving the place and is no longer timid of the street facing windows.
