So it's not officially summer yet but we've rung in the unofficial start of summer...and weekend getaways. If your like me most of your summer vacations are either extended weekends or small weekend getaways that start right after work. Which can sometimes be tricky when going directly from work to train, plane, or automobile. My travel style is always about comfort so I always look for something that would I would be comfortable to wear to work then easily to travel in.
2. Summer Print Top. If a graphic print top like this palm tree print from Loft is too much for work, try a stripe tee in a summery print like this one from J.Crew. There's nothing like a summer color top to get you in the mood for the weekend.
3. The Weekend Bag. A perfect sized weekend bag is necessary. A small duffle or a large tote bag that is easy to carry but all holds everything you need is a must. My bag is by Day by Birger Et Mikkelsen, which was bought form Urban Outfitters. I love that this duffle bag is light and looks small but holds A LOT of stuff. They no longer sell my duffle bag but have it in a tote bag. You an also shop the whole collection on their website.
4. Work to Weekend Sandal. Wear the sandal or shoe that you don't have to pack but you can wear to work that you can also wear over the weekend. The Topshop sandals I wore (other options here and here) were my "night" sandals. I fit my flip flops right into my bag as these sandals didn't have to take up room in my bag.
Do you travel from work to weekend getaways?
