Mixing Prints: Polka Dots and Plaid

When it comes to mixing prints its all about the color choices. Doing two different prints that don't necessarily go together is all about sticking to the tone of the colors, it's one way to keeping the look from clashing. So if you have a dark top stick with a dark bottoms. Brights can be flashy and prints can be overwhelming so if you're afraid of mixing prints or just getting into it, stick with dark tones.

I love playing with prints and am always looking for a fun way to mix them up. I actually had this polka dot top on when I tried these Zara plaid pants on at Zara. I loved how the whole look looked in the fitting room and knew I had to actually rock this look. It's a bit punk and chic...and totally casual.

What do you think of mixing polka-dots and plaid?

  5. This has a bit of a punk look to me. Could be the plaid pants or the chunky booties. I do like mixing patterns. Need to do it more!
