all photos taken by Alex Smirnov
Since I barely dive into my personal life here I wanted to take this time out to share this moment and these special photos with you all. If you keep up with me on twitter, instagram or even remember my post from October you'll know that I'm engaged and in the midst of planning a wedding. My fiance and I had our engagement photo session last month at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. We seriously couldn't have asked for a better time. We went with a photography company -George Street Photography- and picked out our photographer on work alone, so this was the first time meeting Alex. It's a pretty nerve wrecking feeling not knowing the person you'll be working with (especially since my fiance's sister generously bought us an engagement photographer in Hawaii, where we got engaged. We had some really beautiful shots but to put it nicely the photographer wasn't for us)...Since the last experience wasn't stellar, I was totally nervous on top of not being 100% comfortable in front of a camera...which you'd think for a fashion blogger who takes style photos sitting pretty in front of a camera would be easy.WRONG. I'm so uncomfortable in front of a camera unless its my fiance or someone I know well, and even then I feel awkward. I honestly couldn't have been more thrilled to have Alex be our photographer. He was a freaking ball. Running around, picking up some random Asian guy as our 2nd photographer since he wouldn't stop following us, and almost getting caught by security for sitting in grass we weren't allowed in...o and of course getting my fiance into an ice-cream truck. He felt more like a friend...with a really nice camera. He allowed us to be able to be the corky loving couple that we are, which his camera caught so beautifully. I def. have no worries about my wedding day photos, I know he's going to do an AMAZING job.
I know as planning really starts to pick up, I'll post more personal stuff, DIY projects, and whatever else I see fit. If you are truly interested in know what the heck is going on please follow me on twitter and instagram...or even pinterest (since you'll be able to get a feel for my wedding inspiration).
