Renzo + Kai Spring 2013 Presentation
By Tamara Walker of The Curvy SocialiteFirst let me start out by saying, I don’t think I will ever get used to New York Fashion Week taking place in the Lincoln Center area. Scratch that. Let me be honest-- I just hate trekking up to West 66th without coffee in my system. But today, Renzo + Kai made it all worth my while (even without my morning cup of java).
Thanks to fellow blog diva, Heather Epstein (aka Fashionista NY Girl); I was on my way to the Empire
Hotel to view the Renzo + Kai Spring Collection. With an early presentation starting at 10, I found myself sprinting (more like speed walking like the nuns in the old Easy Spirit commercials) down Columbus Avenue and rushing through the open doors to the waiting elevator that would whisk me away to the rooftop deck for a morning of fashion.
Entitled Falling in Love Again, Renzo + Kai found inspiration in the “bon vivant” mentality and New
York’s CafĂ© Society generation of the 1930s. Evoking an era characterized by romance, glamour and
Old Hollywood, designer Mrinalini took a cue from vintage screen siren, Marlene Dietrich--whose joi de vivre served as the inspiration for the essence of this season’s Renzo + Kai woman.

Feminine and colorful yet not flashy, Renzo + Kai, is all about the details this spring. This season's line would be perfect for a weekend of events in the Hamptons with its hand beaded cocktail dresses, sequined tops and short sets; flowing silk chiffon gowns and cropped skinny jeans in colors reminiscent of a spring sunset including salmon, beige, tan, sunburst and black. Made with the finest of fabrics, each piece was simple but stunning with luxe silhouettes that compliment and showcase the female form.
Would you wear these clothes on a girls night out?
Note from the editor:
I love the femininity, glitter, and sparkle (from literally sparkle to just the way the clothes make me feel). I'm feeling the sexiness of it all with the mix of innocence. This collection is without a doubt any glam girls dream. Thank you Tamara for covering this collection for your fellow "diva blogger" Fashionista NY Girl!
