NYFW: DL1961 Spring 2013

I was able to kick of New York Fashion Week a little early this year with jean company DL1961 on Wednesday. Not only was a it a unique pier space down in the Meat Packing District they started the show with a dance piece. Yes a dance piece in jeans. I must admit at first I was confused to as of why the girl was walking so weirdly down the runway then she broke into a dance thats when I figured it out.

For me when it comes to jeans I have a love hate relationship with them. I have a booty so finding my perfect pair of jeans has gotten harder. I've learned I can't fit into the teenage jeans aka Forever21 and Delias. Don't get me wrong I was a TOTAL jean gir back in the day especially after my Catholic School days. But after college I went from jeans to skirts/dresses. I got back into the jean scene  with the jegging trend. I mean I just love the worn in feel plus how they actually hugged my hips and didn't leave me with the gap in the back. Then it was color jeans and print that brought be back into jeans. If you look at my jean draw it is literally overtaken by these trends. Well thank god that these trends aren't going anywhere! DL1961 showcased some really cool printed jeans including some awesome beading work. One of my favorite looks of Fall 2012 is sticking around to the Spring and I really couldn't be more excited about it. It's the motorcycle chic look. Waxed denim jeans that have zippers?! YES PLEASE. If you read this blog you know that I'm a fan of mixing harder pieces with softer pieces and I'm all about playing with the motorcycle chic look. These jeans not only were in black but also came in red which really made my mouth water.
