I sincerely wish I lived closer to a beach...it takes about an HOUR to get to ANY New York City beaches and about an HOUR AND HALF to get to any beach out on Long Island. To get the NJ shore it takes a couple of hours depending where you are going. This past weekend the BF and I went to Point Pleasant Beach in NJ to meet up with our friends. Well getting there proved to be a hassle with train delays. It took us and hour and a half long then it needed it to be so which was suppose to be a 2 and a half hour trip took about 3 to 4 hours. This trip was longer then it EVER needed to be but once we got there it was fun in the sun for sure. Sadly, I did not wear a bathing suit that would be able to tough it up against the rough waves. Anyway the point is the best way to beat the heat is to hit the beaches.

I'm pretty sure if I lived anywhere near one I would live in a bikini, tank top, shorts, and flip flops. Honestly, on hot days anything more then this is to much. Even thinking about putting on high heels during the heat makes me sweat! I live in flip flops during the summer. I usually buy a few pairs at the beginning of the summer and wear them till they fall apart or it gets to cold to wear them. It's more amazing to me how summer flies when your grown up and working 5 days a week. So far my plan to try and spend each Saturday outdoors has been working out pretty well.
What is your favorite way to beat the heat?
