Thought I'd share some snap shots of what I will be wearing tonight. I'm so excited to wear my L.A.M.B shoes since I just got them in the mail yesterday! I got lucky with them and just so happened to be on Ruelala when they were having a L.A.M.B sale-- got these bad boys for $104. Also this dress is probably one of the sexiest dresses I have ever owned. What better time to wear a sexy dress with sequins then on New Years Eve?!
I hope you all have a very HAPPY and SAFE New Years!

Friend Friday: New Year's Resolution
So last year I had two resolutions: 1. To get into better shape 2. To build my closet. Welp I did pretty well with the staying fit part. I got my year membership at the gym and I even started taking a jump roping class. I'm up to running 2 miles without walking in between. I try to get to the gym at least 3 nights a week but since my work schedule has been more hectic I might have to try and get there in the mornings. So for building my closet I went to a few sample sales but spent of course a lot of my money and time at H&M and Zara.
This years resolutions................
1. Eat better. Okay so I got to the gym but I need to cut out some of the crap I do eat.
2. SAVE MONEY! This is a biggie since I feel like all I do is spend spend spend. Whether it's shopping or buying lunch I need to cut it out. Also aka cut back on the buying Starbucks.
3. Continue to Build Fashionista NY Girl. I'm proud of where I have gotten and what I have been able to do. It's amazing to look back and see how far I have become. I want to continue to take this blog to new places and new heights.

I've had this cobalt blue coat for about three years now...I have actually talked about this coat before in this blog (see here for mention) but I decided to finally show you my vibrant coat. This coat can go pretty much easily go with anything. I tend to wear it with darker colors or colors that match. I paired up this coat with the pastels in the American Apparel skirt (which I scored from the warehouse sale) which also went with the chambray shirt from Target. I went for a little twist on the shirt since I'm tired of wearing it either unbuttoned or tucked in so I decided to tie it in the front. Tieing your shirts in the front and making it daytime/work appropriate can be a little tricky but the easiest way to keep it appropriate is to wear high waisted skirts or pants. This skirt has a thick elastic band so I was able to bring the skirt up right above my hips and tie the shirt right where it hits the band. Tieing shirts in the front can be a fun unexpected twist to an outfit.
Do you guys have a favorite winter jacket?

A Look Back at 2011
2011 has been a fun and exciting year for me. I haven't had a year like 2011 in along time. It was filled of lots of adventures and new beginnings for me and my blog. I want to take this time to look back at my 2011:
Travels.
I don't think I have traveled this much in a long time. Yes, traveling to two destinations in one year is a lot for me. I don't get a lot of time off of work and I don't make enough to get the opportunity to travel, so being that I got to go away twice (and to new places) was exciting. I'm glad that I was able to have a true vacation in Miami with two of my favorite people: my best friend/roommate from college and my boyfriend.
Then we ate, drank, and ...drank some more in New Orleans where once again I was able to spend it with my favorites this time adding the bf's roommate from college. I'm so lucky to have these people in my life and to be able to spend time with them. I don't get to see my roomie every often since she lives in Chicago so being able to see her and be on vacation with her is truly amazing.
New Friends.
Okay even if we actually really met in 2010 our friendship has grown more over this year. I love her and respect her not only because she is a beautiful person (inside and out) but she is great at what she does. She always has me in mind and vise versa. Pamala from Addkited2Fashion has fastly become my fashion partner in crime!
Fashion and Blogging.
I don't even know where to begin or what to say. Really I want to THANK everyone who has been following this blog and commenting because of you guys I keep going everyday. I really had the most amazing opportunities this year from attending shows at NY Fashion Week in February and covering a couple of shows for Fashionindie.com to volunteering at NY Couture Fashion Week to attending events at such places like Rebecca Minkoff's showroom to gaining a press pass to NY Fashion Week this past September (and upcoming February).
I can't believe the opportunities that I've had besides attending NY Fashion week and being recognized as a member of the press but to be able to work with companies like ARROJO Studio and Cougar Boots (again!). And meeting new people and companies like Luha Boutique. This year has been a world wind for me. I am blessed and thankful for everyone who believes in me and this blog.

My boyfriend came back today from spending Christmas in PA! We decided to use our Groupon certificate tonight to go see Sherlock Holmes...so what better time to wear and show off some of my latest editions. Thanks to my wonderful bf and parents I had a VERY fashionable Christmas. The bf bought me the T by Alexander Wang shirt. If I could afford it all of my t-shirts would be from Alexander Wang. The silky material is so soft and cozy and casual and slouchy-- they feel and the look perfect for a casual look. I wanted to feel comfortable but still dressy so I pumped up the look with my favorite booties and add a pop of color with the Rebecca Minkoff bag. My mom gave me the H&M scarf not so much as a Christmas present but as a....she just didn't want it? She bought a couple of things from H&M and decided that she didn't want them (this scarf, a black dress, and tights)...so I took them. She is crazy like that she ends up buying stuff and then ends up not wanting them. So they were like a pre-Christmas gift. Rebecca Minkoff bag was courtesy of my parents. My mom remembered my purple Mini Mac that I have and decided to pick me up another one in another exciting color. I was REALLY surprised that they bought me this bag. I really wasn't expecting anything to big this year since I didn't ask for much from them!
What did you guys get this Christmas? Any surprises?

Holiday Style for Less: Sparkle and Shine Jackets
Add some sparkle and shine to your holiday dressing with a fun sequin jacket. Sequin jackets add a fun pizazz to a basic look like t-shirt and jeans or it can jazz up a dress and heels. It's an easy statement maker that won't break the bank. It's also something that you can wear through out the year for a fun night out on the town or to take a work outfit from day to night.
Oasis gold shirt, $45
Wool cardigan, $48
H M sequin cardigan, £25
Mango sequin jacket, £80
Coat, €58
1 & 4. Sequin Blazer. A sequin blazer is a fun take on a regular blazer like the Mango Suit Jacket. If you live in a region that isn't so cold you can wear this as an outwear for the holiday season. Pair up your t-shirt, jeans, and heels for a casual funky look that will take you from day to night. For a party scene wear it out with a dress or party skirt. Full on sequin jackets should be worn with looks that aren't full of sequins since you don't want to over load your look.
2 & 5. Glitter Cardigan. A little sequin cardigan can make a simple outfit sparkle for the holidays. The H&M cardigan is perfect for a holiday dinner with the family or In-Laws. It's casual and yet still dressy. It's also a cardigan that you could work into your rotation at work to replace your usual work cardigans.
3. Cropped Sequin Jacket. A cropped sequin jacket can be the icing on the cake for a party dress. You can play around with lengths by topping your maxi dress with a cropped sequin jacket. The Romwe jacket is an elegant touch to any little number.

This turtle neck is another buy that I bought from Zara last week while I was out shopping for the bf's Christmas present. I actually was torn between the red and this mustard yellow. But my heart is set on mustard yellow. I might have to go back to get the red one since I don't have a lot of red in my closet...actually I don't have any plain red in my closet?! I have a feeling this turtle neck will become a staple this winter.
What's a staple in your winter wardrobe?

So I bought this shirt from Zara on Monday when I was out Christmas shopping for the boyfriend. I ended up in Zara searching for NYE shoes but instead ended up buying this totally comfy shirt along with a mustard yellow turtle neck. I'm in LOVE with this shirt it's so comfy and I love pairing it up with some jazzy leggings like my shiny American Apparel leggings. This look is totally relaxed but still kept it cool with my booties, I also paired it up with my Michael Kors leather jacket and for a pop of color a red pasmina scarf. Anyway you may be asking what is up with the Christmas presents? My boyfriend don't get to spend Christmas together since his family still lives down in PA and all of my family is here in NYC. So we create our own Christmas this year we are doing it this weekend and baking our Christmas cookies. I can not wait to spend the weekend baking with him and exchanging gifts!
PS Do you like my temporary Santa tattoo? My co-worker and I decided to play with some temp tattoos. I really want a tattoo in that spot.

Party Shoes for Less: The Glitter Shoes
You got the perfect party dress but now you are looking for those shoes that say DAZZLING! Sequin shoes are the perfect shoe to give some sparkle to a simple dress or even to a dress that has a little sparkle already. Whether you are looking for stilettos or wedges or even flats I got you covered with a little guide of sparkly shoes!
1. & 5. Gold Heels goes with everything from a black dress to a red dress. They help really make a statement even more so when they are covered in glitter. Go classic is a stiletto heel like the ASOS Paranormal Gold Platform Shoe ($66) or go funky like the Bebe Omega Heel ($115).The fun part about pairing gold shoes with an outfit is that you can dress yourself up in all gold accessories! Stay away from pair a silver dress with gold shoes you don't want to clash to much.
2. Stay bright in purple. Okay so sequin and glitter is already unexpected but why not try an unexpected color like purple. Charlotte Russe has you covered with a cute purple pump that sparkles for only $25! Play around with playful colors or colorblock your dress. These shoes would go great with a gold dress or even silver!
3. Standout flat. Not every girl likes to spend 5 hours in heels and not every girl is a fan of heels in general so don't worry you gals there are sparkly flats out there too! These Zara Sequinned Ballerina ($99) are the essential stand out flat...they are gold and have BIG sequin which helps make them standout even more. The best part about these flats is that they are unexpected for flat shoes and stand out just as much as a heel would.
4. Black Sequin. Take a twist on the classic heel and do a black sequin pump. Aldo's Burdine ($50) is a classy piece that can go with anything. This shoes also works well for the girls who don't want to sparkle and shine to much. Black sequin is an easy fix for someone that wants just enough glitter without looking to shiny.

Inspirational Monday: Winter Whites
I always wished I was that girl that can wear all white and not get a single thing on her. But I'm a magnet for disasters and way to clumsy to wear all white. When I do wear whites I still fear that I will manage to get some kind of something on myself (hence why I keep a Tide to go pen at my desk at work). Either way I love whites. The idea of pairing up creams and lighter crisper whites together to to give it a little more depth makes me giddy. Some might say an all white outfit is boring but with that I find that an all white outfit is elegant and smooth. Specially paired up with the right accessories like a clean sleek white watch. Or if you are in the land of Harry Potter an Owl. If not simple small accessories along with a sharp white handbag like the Mulberry Bayswater Winter White Croc Nappa Leathre can polish off the look. Whites are perfect for winter because there is nothing like an elegant white outfit with the back drop of a snow covered city.
What do you guys think of pairing whites up?

NAILSPIRATION: Holiday Nails
Once again I'm busting out the Holiday nails! Actually I was suppose to go get my nails done last night but after picking up my dry cleaning after work in the pouring rain and coming home I couldn't even think about going back outside. Sooooo instead of getting my nails done I got down and creative. I like to call this the Holiday Stripes.
What you'll need:
2. Once your nails are dry start at the tip of your nail going diagonal to the bottom of the opposite corner (creating a diagonal stripe). Make this stripe thick so that you can do two thin stripes on each side. I used the Sinful Color Fashionista for the first stripe. If you don't want to do silver try a gold color.
3. Once your stripe is dry take a thin red nail art polish to create a line on each side of your stripe.
4. To finish off the look top it off with your top coat!
VIOLA HOLIDAY PARTY NAILS! I can't wait to show them off at my office holiday party tomorrow night! What do you guys think?
What you'll need:
